Remember mountain biking etiquette

Three individuals riding mountain bikes on a forest trail. They are wearing casual cycling attire and helmets. The forest is dense with fallen leaves on the ground, indicating it might be autumn.

How well do you know everyman’s rights?

  • You may bicycle in nature, e.g., on roads and trails.

  • You must not damage or alter the terrain, bicycle on people’s yards or planted or cultivated fields.

  • Full everyman's rights do not apply in nature reserves, including the national parks. Due to the wear and tear of nature and the safety of all those travelling in the area, bicycling is often restricted and focussed on the most suitable routes. Always check any restrictions applicable to your destination before you go.
