Show consideration for other travellers
Cyclists are fast, so they should give way to others. Slow down and use your bell or other sounds at crossroads and while passing someone.
Control your speed
Controlling our speed in all situations makes it safe. Reduce trail wear: Do not full brake or veer off the trail in damp or difficult places.
Read and follow the rules and regulations of the area and the routes
Only make fire where it is permitted and only when no wildfire warnings have been issued. Take your rubbish away with you.
How well do you know everyman’s rights?
You may bicycle in nature, e.g., on roads and trails.
You must not damage or alter the terrain, bicycle on people’s yards or planted or cultivated fields.
Full everyman's rights do not apply in nature reserves, including the national parks. Due to the wear and tear of nature and the safety of all those travelling in the area, bicycling is often restricted and focussed on the most suitable routes. Always check any restrictions applicable to your destination before you go.
