The fast-running forest roads and Metsänvartija Trail, which runs from Lake Valkiaisjärvi to Loppula, are also suitable for biking.

The hiking trails in the area offer an outstanding setting for snowshoeing in winter. There is no winter maintenance on the hiking trails.

Fishing is allowed with the appropriate permits. Angling and ice fishing are permitted in areas other than restricted areas.

A snowmobile trail maintained by the City of Oulu runs in the northern and western parts of Sanginjoki. Snowmobiling off the trail always requires permission from the landowner.
