Sanginjoki is located northeast of the city of Oulu, between Sanginjoki Road and Ylikiiminki Road, approximately 20 kilometers northeast of Oulu city center. Distance is calculated using Loppula in Sanginjoki as the reference point, where many of the area's hiking trails begin.

There are four parking areas for cars located in different parts of the Sanginjoki area.

• The most central is the parking area at Loppula, near which many of the area's hiking trails start.
• Additionally, there is a parking area at the Valkiaisjärvi beach in the Oulu city area, providing direct access to the trails in Sanginjoki.

In the Sanginjoki area, there are intersecting forest roads, but driving on them is not allowed without appropriate permits. The roads are closed with locked gates.

There is no direct public transportation connection to Sanginjoki at the moment.
