In the wilderness reserves ponds and lakes, you can fish for free by angling and ice fishing, and by paying the fisheries management fee (eraluvat.fi), also with a lure, except in restricted fishing areas (kalastusrajoitus.fi). Special waters are marked with appropriate signs on the shores.

The Metsähallitus fishing permit, 1503 Hammastunturi-Sarmitunturi (eraluvat.fi), is more comprehensive and also allows fishing in the aforementioned special waters and flowing waters according to the fishing area map and permit conditions.

Note that whenever engaging in fishing other than angling or ice fishing, those aged 18-69 must pay the fisheries management fee (eraluvat.fi).
