National Park Gate - Teerisuon Intersection
• The route starts at the main entrance of Syöte National Park. At the starting point and all junctions along the trail, there are signs for the Teerivaaran kierros trail.
Initially, the route follows a gravel path down to the Teerisuo bog, which is crossed by duckboards. The duckboard section is about 140 meters long.
After the bog, the trail rises into a spruce forest, where it splits into a loop. From here, the trail is mostly natural.
Teerisuon Intersection - Teerivaara North Peak
• When going clockwise, the trail winds through old-growth forest along the western edge of the hill. After 1 km, the trail starts to climb, and the path becomes rocky, with some boulder fields. Before reaching the northern viewpoint of Teerivaara, the trail climbs about 80 meters over 0.5 km. The viewpoint offers a magnificent view over the national park.
Teerivaara North Peak - Teeritupa
• The trail continues, with some roots and rocks, toward the narrow passage between Teerivaara's peaks, with steep ascents and descents on both sides. The trail may be wet in places during summer at the saddle between the peaks.
• From the bottom of the saddle, the trail ascends to Teeritupa. Teeritupa is a day-use hut where you can make a fire and enjoy your snacks. In the hut’s yard, there are two picnic tables where you can take a rest. The yard also has a toilet with a firewood shed on one side.
Teeritupa - Teerisuon Intersection
• From Teeritupa, the trail descends back to Teerisuo bog and the nature center. Shortly after Teeritupa, there is a short rocky section that can be slippery. After this, the trail surface is forested, with some gravel sections.
Teerisuon Intersection - National Park Starting Gate
The trail returns to the main entrance of Syöte National Park via the same route over Teerisuo bog as at the start.
