Jungfruskär is a lush oasis in the middle of the sea, highly valuable from a biodiversity perspective. On the nature trail in Jungfruskär, visitors can explore the oldest traditional landscape area in the Archipelago National Park. Along the trail, there are rare habitat types, such as wooded meadows, where endangered traditional environment species grow, including the Elder-flowered Orchid (Dactylorhiza sambucina) and Fragrant Orchid (Gymnadenia conopsea subsp. conopsea). Nature information boards along the trail provide insights into the island’s nature and its management. At the starting point, there is a dry toilet, a campfire site, and a small tenting area. The Jungfruskär nature trail is fairly easy to walk. Part of the route follows roads.

The Jungfruskär trail begins at the boat dock. At the starting point of the trail, there is a campfire site and a small camping area.
When following the nature trail clockwise, the first sight is a cannon located on top of a cliff. Near the cannon, there is a dry toilet.
The trail continues along a gravel road through leafy meadows. Leafy meadows are a specialty of the Archipelago Sea. They are meadows where pollarded trees grow. In pollarding, branches are cut and tied into bundles to be used as fodder for livestock. This practice has given the trees a distinctive growth form. The meadows are home to endangered traditional biotope species, such as various types of orchids.
From the gravel road, the trail turns toward a birdwatching tower, which offers a sea view with coastal meadows.
The trail continues along a grove forest and ascends to a cliff with a sea view. There is another cannon on the cliff.
The final stretch of the trail leads through wooded pastures and leafy meadows back to the starting point.
