The Jungfruskär Nature Trail (length 2.6 km) passes through the central and southern parts of the island.
Right at the beginning of the trail, there is an old rock engraving of a sailing ship. When walked clockwise, the trail first passes a cannon position built into a house.
By Byholm, there is a nature observation tower offering sea views and coastal meadows.
Along the trail, you will also encounter former military buildings and another cannon position, located at the southern edge of the route.
The nature trail also passes one of the Archipelago Sea's unique features, leafy meadows with trees. In these meadows, branches were cut and bundled to feed livestock.
The meadows are home to rare fly orchids and the more common, but demanding, cowslip. Along the nature trail, you will also find dry meadows, groves, and rocky outcrops.
The Jungfruskär nature trail is relatively easy to walk. Parts of the trail follow roads.
At the start of the nature trail, there is a campfire site, dry toilet, and an information board. The tent area is also near the start of the trail. A drilled well is located near Sälängs barracks, about 60 meters from the nature trail.
Endpoint: Jungfruskär´s harbour, Sundet.
