Rakitsanojan kammi open wilderness hut in the Korvatunturi Trail is closed for hiking use until Midsummer's Eve (June 20, 2025). The duckboards on the trail are being renewed, and the Rakitsanojan kammi hut is at the workers use. The duckboard work is being carried out by the Municipality of Savukoski. In case of emergency, the hut is available for everyone.

No new reports of stomach flu on the Karhunkierros Trail – Metsähallitus still receiving illness reports from Urho Kekkonen National Park
Since Monday, 9 June, Metsähallitus Parks & Wildlife has received no new reports of hikers falling ill with stomach flu on the Karhunkierros Trail. Wilderness huts and other rest areas along the Karhunkierros Trail can now be used again. However, norovirus continues to spread in Urho Kekkonen National Park, and Metsähallitus is still receiving reports of infected hikers. Visitors are advised to avoid huts and rest areas in the national park.

According to reports received by Metsähallitus, more than 30 hikers have contracted stomach flu in Urho Kekkonen National Park. Three hikers have been evacuated from the wilderness between Tuesday and Wednesday. The cause of the illness is currently unknown.
