The well at Uitto has dried up

The well at Uiton Kämppä Rental Hut in Tiilikkajärvi National Park has dried up. There are no other drinking water points in the national park.

Significant EU funding for the conservation of wild forest reindeer in Finland

Finland has secured substantial EU LIFE funding to support the conservation and population management of the Finnish wild forest reindeer (Rangifer tarandus fennicus), a native subspecies of the circumpolarly distributed reindeer. The seven-year project, LIFEline4Fennicus, aims to strengthen the long-term viability of the population through targeted conservation measures.

Hiking conditions in Tiilikkajärvi are quite summer-like

Spring has arrived unusually early in Tiilikkajärvi National Park, and the floodwaters have remained moderate. The trails are therefore generally quite dry. However, it's advisable to wait until the end of May before heading to the Pumpulikirkko trail.
