The Karttulenkki trail in the Ruunaa Hiking Area can be traversed via a detour route.

The forest road bridge over the Neitijoki River, located along the Karttulenkki cycling route, is in poor condition and will be dismantled during July–August 2025. However, it is still possible to complete the Karttulenkki by bypassing the Neitijoki bridge via the route Kontiokankaantie—Revontie—Haapavitjantie. This detour is not separately marked in the terrain. The detour adds approximately 4.2 km to the route, making the total length of the Karttulenkki slightly over 40 km. Due to scheduling reasons, construction of a new bridge over the Neitijoki River suitable for pedestrian and bicycle traffic will likely begin only next year.

Clearing along Murrookoskentie and renovation of motorhome parking areas completed

Clearing work along Murrookoskentie near Siikakoski has been completed. The road surface renovation will take place later in the autumn, once the area’s construction projects are finished. Some parking areas along Murrookoskentie are already available for use, while others remain restricted for construction traffic only. Due to ongoing construction of new service structures, the Siikakoskenniska area remains a construction site and is off-limits to visitors. The trails passing through the construction area – Siikakoski Loop, Vastuuniemi Trail, and Rapids Trail – have been temporarily rerouted via the Murrookoskentie parking area. The detour is marked in the terrain with red ribbons and maps.
