Huttuloma open wilderness hut in Pyhä-Luosto National Park is closed in October due to repairs

Renovation work is being carried out at the Huttuloma open wilderness hut and other hiking structures in the same yard. The repairs will start in week 40 and is expected to last until the end of October 2025.

Metsähallitus customer service recommends peaceful autumn colour hikes

Autumn arrives and brings with it the autumn colours – nature’s own art exhibition, where the forests glow in ever-changing shades of yellow, orange, and red. Hiking in the autumn colours is a perfect way to enjoy the cooling days, the fresh air, the slowly darkening evenings, and nature’s bounty of mushrooms and berries.

At the edge of the parking area, there is an information shelter, trail signs, and a national park emblem.

Many visitors use mobile and car navigation apps to reach hiking destinations. While these apps work well in urban settings, they don’t always guide visitors correctly when heading to rural or remote outdoor destinations. Incorrect directions may lead drivers along forest roads that are unsuitable or impassable.
