The day-use hut is located high on the northern slope of Ukko-Luosto Fell, along the marked summer and winter trails. The hut has tables and benches for having a snack break, as well as a permanent, free exhibition about the light phenomena of northern nature, "Lightscapes of a Fell". The hut has large landscape windows and a ceiling window opening to the southern sky.

The day-use hut is an open and shared resting place for self-guided hikers without reservation or fee. Sleeping overnight in the hut is not allowed. No drinking water available. No waste management, take your own waste out of the area. Pets are allowed in the hut only with the consent of other users.
