The Martimoaapa Mire Reserve is one of the most important mire conservation areas in Northern Finland. For hikers, it offers fascinating terrain and, despite its name, some of the finest hill landscapes. In addition to mires, the area includes representative old-growth forests and is highly significant for many endangered bird species.
