The Lake Mallinkaistenjärvi hiking area is a hiker's and nature lover's dream destination. The area has a diverse forest, steep cliffs, a lakeside and a well-marked network of trails.

Enjoy the peace and quiet of nature in a wooded hiking area around the clear-water Lake Mallinkaistenjärvi. Hikers can walk along the network of paths and stop to take a break at fireplaces or take a dip in the lake. The trails run along the lakeshore and you can see impressive steep cliffs, such as the Valskerinkallio. The trail network is natural and challenging in places.
There are four fireplaces in the area. Firewood is only available at the Kahilahti firewood store, from where it can be taken to the other fire sites. It is recommended that you bring your own firewood.
The Saparoniemi nature reserve is home to ash and cowslip trees protected by the Nature Conservation Act.
