The trail section between Koronjää and Pajupuro wilderness hut is closed until further notice due to deteriorated boardwalks and bridges.

Closed trail Section Is part of the 20 km Korouoma Hiking Trail. The closure of this trail section does not affect Korouoma’s day trails.

The boardwalks and the bridges crossing the Korojoki River along the trail are severely decayed in many places and can no longer be used safely.

Hikers planning to explore the long Korouoma hiking trail are advised to start their hike from Lapiosalmi. Please note that it is no longer possible to hike all the way to the Saukkovaara parking area from Lapiosalmi. The trail currently ends at the Pajupuro open wilderness hut, from where hikers must return along the same route.

The boardwalks and bridges crossing the Korojoki River on the Korouoma Hiking Trail section from the Koronjää junction to the Pajupuro open wilderness hut are decayed in many places and can no longer be used safely.

Hikers planning to take the long Korouoma Hiking Trail are advised to start from Lapiosalmi. Please note that it is no longer possible to hike all the way to the Saukkovaara parking area from Lapiosalmi. The trail currently ends at the Pajupuro open wilderness hut, from where hikers must return the same way.

The closure of this trail section does not affect the Koronjää or Piippukallion pihaus day trails in Korouoma. Both trails remain open and accessible.
