The Korouoma hiking trail runs through the dramatic cliff landscapes of the Korouoma canyon, along ridges that mark the end of the valley, and into the embrace of numerous lakes. The trail is demanding due to elevation changes and insufficient trail markings. Trail markings are worn in places, so be sure to bring a compass and a map.
The trail section between Koronjää and Pajupuro wilderness hut is closed until further notice due to deteriorated boardwalks and bridges.

Trail marking: orange paint on trees.
Starts at the Lapiosalmi trailhead. The trail ascends to a ridge offering scenic views over clear-water lakes. The initial part of the route features gentle ridge landscapes.
Follows the Korojoki River downstream. Along the trail, there are several managed flood meadows.
Pajupuro wilderness hut serves as the turning point of the trail. Currently, the trail does not continue beyond Pajupuro towards the Koronjää junction or the Saukkovaara parking area, as the bridges and boardwalks are in poor condition and the trail section is closed.
The return hike follows the same route back to Lapiosalmi.
