Paddling

  • The Kermajärvi Nature Reserve is approximately 13 km long, so it is a good idea to reserve at least 1-2 days for exploring the area. Previous paddling experience is needed in the area due to the open expanse of the lake and its maze-like archipelago. The Kermajärvi map is an adequate guide for visitors to the area.
  • You can reach Lake Kermajärvi from Heinävesi, Karvio or Kermankoski.
  • There are three excursion harbours in the Lake Kermajärvi area and its vicinity. It is also possible to pitch a tent at these harbours.
