Hiking in Auttiköngäs
There are short walking trails in Auttiköngäs that start from the parking area. Classified as demanding accessible, duckboard trails a few dozen metres in length lead to the Uittopirtti day-use hut and the viewing platform at Auttiköngäs Falls. Suitable for day trips, a nature trail approximately 3.6 km in length runs across a variety of terrain on both sides of the Auttijoki River. Along the nature trail, you can admire the cascading waterfall, the river winding its way through the canyon and the surrounding old-growth forests.
There is no winter maintenance on the trails, but they are often tamped down during busy times, making them hikable in winter footwear. The nature trail is suitable for snowshoeing in winter.
