Length3 km
Duration(1-2 hours)
Far out in the outer archipelago, in the middle of the Kvarken Archipelago, you walk the same rocky path as the lighthouse keeper did long ago. The heather moor smells sweet, and above you, a sea eagle circles. There are nature boards, a campfire site and two dry toilets along the trail. The trail is not maintained in the winter. Please note that between 1 May and 31 July, you may only access the harbour areas and the Valsöarna Thematic Trail on the Valsörarna Islands. Valsörarna Islands’ attractions include a lighthouse and lighthouse keepers’ buildings, fishing huts, ribbed moraine clusters, i.e., Rogen-type moraines and fladas, and a memorial for Russian soldiers. A biological station maintained by Ostrobothnia australis rf, established in 1966 mainly for bird observation and research, is also located on the Valsörarna Islands. Today, the station is also an active bat research centre. Please note that the trail can only be accessed by water.
