Storskäret lies beyond a challenging sea journey, on the edge of the open sea. It belongs to the Rönnskär island group but is not part of the Kvarken Archipelago World Heritage Site. On the eastern side of the island, there is a small fishing village where visitors can come ashore. A nature trail leads from the village to the bay of Södra viken, which features a large sandy beach. The island is rich in ancient relics. There are no campfire sites or dry toilets along the nature trail. Camping is allowed under everyman's right. To protect nesting birds, movement is restricted to marked trails between May 1st and July 15th.
