The Riuttaskorpi recreational forest area is part of the peaceful wilderness of the Suomenselkä watershed region. A linear trail runs through Riuttaskorpi from the Haukijärvi cooking shelter to the Suutarilankoski lean-to shelter and then to the Kuttulammi cooking shelter. The trail connects to the Pirkan Taival trail network maintained by the municipalities, which leads to the national parks of Seitseminen and Helvetinjärvi and to Kuru. The nature of Riuttaskorpi is generally rugged, and the forests are predominantly pine. There are small mires in the depressions of the terrain and along the shores of water bodies. The most prominent feature of the area is the north-south oriented moraine ridge of Pitkäkangas. The aquatic nature in Riuttaskorpi is also diverse. In addition to small lakes, the trail offers views of rushing rapids. The trail is a linear route, which is over 12 km long when traveled back and forth. Please note that the trail markings are incomplete. We recommend using a topographic map and a compass.
