Starting pointPyhä-Häkki parking area
You can find the starting point of the trail through the gate at the edge of the parking area. The group of signs guides you onto the route.
It is a good idea to visit the information shelter located behind the signs before taking on the actual trail. The shelter has nature boards, and a pump well is located behind the shelter. There are tables and benches in the shelter and in front of it. There is also a dry toilet at the edge of the forest nearby.
The trail starts as a wide, gravelled forest path. After 800 metres, you will arrive at a junction of trails. Turn sharply towards the mire. You can cross the open mire on duckboards. You can observe birds nesting in the mire with binoculars. These include common cranes (Grus grus), wood sandpipers (Tringa glareola) and common greenshanks (Tringa nebularia).
From the mire, return to the wide, gravelled trail and follow it to the parking area.
