The trail is about 5 km long and forms a circular route. It starts from the Pinkjärvi parking area and is marked in the terrain with red trail markers. Parts of the route go through uneven, rocky forest terrain. From the parking area, it is also possible to take a shorter path directly to the Vuotava double lean-to shelter (about 1 km one way).
Pinkjärvi parkingarea.
The trail begins next to the information board at the Pinkjärvi parking area. The first 300 metres follow a gravel forest road, after which the trail turns right if walked in a counterclockwise direction. The route can also be walked in the opposite (clockwise) direction if preferred.
The path is fairly easy to walk, although there are some stones and roots along the way. After approximately 1.5 km, you arrive at the Vuotava double lean-to shelter, which also has a campfire site and a toilet. There is a small sandy beach at Vuotava where you can take a dip in the lake (note: not an official swimming beach).
Vuotava lean-to shelters.
From Vuotava, the trail continues towards the Mustalahti lean-to shelter. This section runs along the shoreline and offers beautiful lake views. The distance from the trail’s starting point to Mustalahti is about 2.5 km.
Mustalahti lean-to shelter.
After Mustalahti, the trail heads deeper into the forest again. Towards the end of the route, duckboards have been installed to ease passage through wetter sections. After rainfall, please be careful as the duckboards may be slippery when wet.
