Located just 1 km downstream from the iconic Imatrankoski Bridge, Mellonlahti is a peaceful retreat where nature thrives. Once part of the Vuoksi River, Mellonlahti is now separated by an embankment, creating a unique ecosystem of its own. Without the river’s flow, the bay has developed into a lush haven of rich deciduous vegetation.
The surrounding nature trail offers a scenic 3 km journey through this vibrant landscape. Along the way, you’ll find a cozy campfire spot on Kuukansaari Island—accessible via a bridge from the embankment road or along the lakeside trail. Please note: there is no firewood service, so be sure to bring your own supplies.
Fishing enthusiasts can purchase permits for Mellonlahti at the Vuoksi Fishing Park, making it a perfect destination for a relaxing day outdoors.
