The trail starts from the parking area and leads onto the mire, crossing Pikkulamminneva on duckboards.
At Särkilamminneva there is a trail junction from which you can either head to the Särkinen open wilderness hut and rest area, or continue toward more open mire expanses. The Särkinen open wilderness hut is located on a meadow. It is permitted to overnight in the hut, and camping is allowed in the yard area. There is also a campfire site and a dry toilet by the hut. From there, the trail continues toward the mires through the forest of Särkinkangas.
The route continues with long duckboard sections along the edge of the impressive Vähä Levaneva mire. Occasionally, the trail diverts onto forest paths for a while.
The Maalarinmaa birdwatching tower and lean-to shelter are located near the shore of the Kivi- and Levalampi artificial pond.
From Maalarinmaa, the trail continues straight across Levaneva as a long boardwalk that seems to stretch out endlessly into the distance.
Return to the Peräkylä parking area follows the same route.
