The Kurimonkoski Trail is a short, narrow path that follows the bank of the Kiiminkijoki River. The trail begins at the Kurimonkoski parking area. Note: Trail markings are incomplete.
From the parking area, the trail continues along the northern bank of the Kiiminkijoki as a narrow footpath towards the Kurimonkoski lean-to shelter, which is about 0.3 km away. Along the way, there are three bridges that cross smaller streams flowing into the Kiiminkijoki.
Beyond the mapped section leading to the shelter, the path continues to the remains of the former Kurimo ironworks on Myllysaari island. This section includes two bridges crossing an old canal built for the ironworks. Walking around Myllysaari adds about 0.2 km to the trail length.
From the lean-to shelter, you can also take a short detour to visit the Kurimonkoski meadows, which are protected due to their conservation value. The distance from the shelter to the meadows is about 0.1 km.
You can return to the parking area by following the same trail along the riverbank. Alternatively, you can walk back via a small forest road starting at the meadows and continue along Kurimontie to the right until you reach the parking area again.
