Starting pointNuutinpalon pysäköintialue
The Kalimeenkierros Trail starts from the Nuutinpalo parking area close to the Ylikiimingintie road outside the Sanginjoki nature reserve. The distance to the Kalimeenkierros Trail from the connecting route that starts from the parking area is about 0.5 kilometres. The Kalimeenkierros Trail runs partly outside the nature reserve.
At the end of the connecting route, you arrive at a junction where the Kalimeenkierros Trail continues in both directions. The recommended hiking direction is clockwise, in which case the campsite is at the end of the trail.
At the junction of the connecting route, turn left and continue for about two kilometres towards the Kalimeenlampi Pond. This section is moist in many places and especially in spring it may be inaccessible. This section features duckboards in many places and the trail crosses the Kalimeenoja River on a bridge.
Near the southern corner of the Kalimeenlampi Pond, the trail turns to the right in a moist pine forest. The trail soon turns rightwards and you again find yourself in moist terrain. This section partially runs on duckboards. The distance from the Kalimeenlampi Pond to the dry section of Iso Polvikangas is about 1.3 kilometres.
In Iso Polvikangas, the trail climbs to a dry section running on the spruce-dominated esker of Iso Polvikangas. This esker section has a length of about 1.3 kilometres. Continue on this path until you reach a forest road.
For a short section, the Kalimeenkierros Trail runs on a forest road, after which the trail continues for another 0.1 kilometres to the campfire site at Myllykoski.
After the Myllykoski campfire site, the final stage of the Kalimeenkierros Trail begins near the lush shores of the Kalimeenoja River and continues towards the junction of the Nuutinpalo connecting trail. Distance to the connecting trail is about 0.8 kilometres. On this section, the trail crosses the Kalimeenoja River again.
