Jääskelä Nature Trail is located in Jyväskylä, on the eastern shore of Lake Päijänne, near Vaajakoski. The trail is approximately 5 km long and marked with yellow paint. There are 17 information boards along the route, and a shorter 3 km version is available by returning to the starting point from board number 9. The recommended direction is counterclockwise.
The terrain is varied, featuring lush groves, open rock areas, and dry pine forests. The trail passes through Natura 2000 protected sites, such as Tontunvuori and Sammalistonkallio, which offers a beautiful view over Lake Päijänne.
There is a campfire site near the end of the trail by the lake, but fires are only allowed when there is no forest fire warning, and visitors must bring their own firewood. The trail is not maintained during winter and is not suitable for people with reduced mobility. In autumn 2023, the route was slightly changed between boards 9 and 10.
Hikers are encouraged to follow the principles of litter-free hiking and take their trash with them.
Small parking area and the trail start point at Jääskeläntie 169.
