The Hiipireitti is an easy-to-walk nature trail about 15 km long, running from Pitkäjärvi in Kokemäki to Hiittenharju in Harjavalta. The route takes you through pine forests and historic landscapes, offering cosy rest spots with shelters and versatile opportunities for walking, cycling, and winter skiing.

Hiipireitti Trail (approx. 15 km) runs from Pitkäjärvi in Kokemäki to Hiittenharju in Harjavalta. The trail is suitable for both walking and cycling and mostly consists of easy terrain with pine forests and sandy paths. It is marked with blue signs, although some markings may be faded.
Along the route, there are several resting spots, such as the Pikkulaavu Shelter (1 km from Pitkäjärvi), Palojärvi Shelter by Huovintie road, and the Hiittenharju Kotalaavu Shelter. About halfway, you can rest at Järilä Ski Lodge, which also has parking.
The trail mostly follows easy and wide forest paths but crosses a railway and some larger roads, so caution is advised. The terrain is mostly flat, with some hills near the end.
Hiipireitti is suitable for families with children, dog walkers, and those with limited mobility due to its easy terrain. In winter, the trail is used for skiing and winter cycling.
The route offers beautiful scenery, historical surroundings of the Huovintie road, and peaceful nature. Along the way, you might spot birds like capercaillie or a pair of goldeneyes.
Practical tips:
Suitability: The trail is easy to walk and well suited for beginners, families, dog walkers, and people with limited mobility (boardwalks and accessible sections). Only the rocky part of the ridge requires caution.
Facilities: Along the route, there are several shelters, campfire sites, and information boards. Parking and toilets are available at the start and end points.
Challenging sections: The ridge section has a sandy and narrow path that can be slippery when wet. Otherwise, the trail is mostly flat and well marked.
What to see: Lake views, wetlands, historic stone fences, and traditional landscapes offer a variety of nature and cultural experiences.
