The route is marked with intersection signs and directional arrows as needed. There are intersection maps along the route.
At the starting point of Hiijje silimukka, a traditional small farm landscape opens up before the traveler, where sheep graze in the pasture during the summer. In the background of the Hiidenmaa farm's pasture landscape rises Neitvuori, dotted with boulders and open rocks. Climbing to its summit is the most challenging part of this route. However, within the first kilometer, there are several scenic spots offering views over the Luonteri labyrinth, part of Saimaa.
Less than a kilometer from the starting point, there is an intersection where you can decide whether to walk the entire Hiijje silimukka (3.9 km) or if a shorter hike is enough for today. You can continue straight ahead or turn left onto a shortcut. The shortcut passes through bright pine forests and open rocks towards a lean-to and a campfire site.
If you choose to walk the entire route, it continues through mature coniferous forests. The path is relatively flat. Just over a kilometer from the intersection, you reach the next intersection, where there is a sign to the right for the Hiiden kierros hiking trail. Hiijje silimukka continues straight ahead. About half a kilometer further, you reach a lean-to with a campfire site and a toilet.
From the lean-to, the hike continues along a cart path. The wide, flat cart path gently descends through a deciduous and lush forest. About a kilometer further, you reach the edge of a field, and the Hiidenmaa farm is visible again on the left. To return to the starting point and parking area, continue straight ahead.
