The reservation huts of Lapland draw hikers to the open fells, while elsewhere in Finland rental huts attract visitors with lake scenery and saunas.
The most popular accommodations in the north are located along the hiking trails of Pallas–Yllästunturi and Urho Kekkonen National Parks. In other parts of the country, hikers head to rental huts for peace and quiet in Liesjärvi and Pyhä–Luosto National Parks and the landscapes of Sanginjoki.
In a shared rental hut, you book a sleeping place for yourself, while a rental hut gives you exclusive use of the entire hut for the duration of your booking. Some rental hut yards also include structures available to all hikers, such as fire pits, wells, and day-use huts.

Wilderness huts and day-use huts are presented on the Luontoon.fi website, where the “Overnight Stays” section of each destination also lists rental huts offered by private entrepreneurs. More wilderness cabins can be found on the Lomarengas website.
All huts requiring a fee and advance bookings - shared rental huts and rental huts - are listed on Eräluvat.fi. On the hut booking page, you can filter huts by location and available facilities. Some huts have a sauna, and some allow pets.
Metsähallitus’ shared rental huts and rental huts are modest by nature. Before booking, it is worth carefully reviewing the hut, its location, its equipment, and the surrounding destination to ensure you choose a hut that suits your needs. On the booking site, most hut descriptions also indicate the most popular booking times and seasons.
