The wetlands in the extension area of Tiilikkajärvi National Park are being restored. The work will begin with clearing old ditch lines in Löytynsuo, Kuikkasuo and, lastly, in Haravamäki, where it may affect the use of the Haravapuro Trail.
The work will start in week 8, and the work sites will be marked in the field with signs. Weather and site conditions may still affect the schedule and plans. In Haravamäki, the work area may impact the use of the Haravapuro Trail. The other sites are not located on or near trails.
The ditch lines will be cleared using an excavator equipped with a guillotine grapple. Later, the cleared ditch lines will be filled to allow the wetlands’ natural water balance to recover. The felled trees will be left in the forest as deadwood.
