The canyon area of the Kevo Strict Nature Reserve is temporarily closed

The Kevo canyon area and the Kevo Summertrail is temporarily closed due to flooding. Crossing the rivers is currently unsafe.

There are three fording points along the trail. Fiellu ford is also flooded. It is possible to hike from Ruktajärvi via Njávgoaivi and Akukammi to the Guivi wilderness hut, but the Guivi trail cannot be completed as a circular route. Due to ongoing rainfall, the situation may last for an extended period. The safety of the trail in Kevo Nature Reserve will be assessed before it is reopened, and a separate announcement will be made. The canyon area is marked in dark red on the map.
