A wooden turf hut intended for hikers' accommodation, also known as a small gabled hut. The sun is shining, and the trees have leaves. A fell is visible behind the low pines and birches.

A modest open wilderness hut is available year-round. A demanding wilderness destination.

The open wilderness hut is a shared and free resting and overnight place for independent hikers (not for companies). You can stay in wilderness huts for one or two nights without a reservation. Be prepared for the possibility that there may not be enough space to sleep in the hut.

Facilities:

  • Sleeping places for 6.
  • Heating with a stove. Gas stove for cooking.
  • No drinking water point. Water from natural sources must be purified before drinking.
  • No waste management. Take your own waste out of the area.
  • Bring your own cooking utensils.
  • Pets are allowed in the hut only with the consent of other users.

Rakitsanojan kammi is closed for hiking use until Midsummer's Eve.

Rakitsanojan kammi open wilderness hut in the Korvatunturi Trail is closed for hiking use until Midsummer's Eve (June 20, 2025). The duckboards on the trail are being renewed, and the Rakitsanojan kammi hut is at the workers use. The duckboard work is being carried out by the Municipality of Savukoski. In case of emergency, the hut is available for everyone.
