In Teijo National Park, the peace of nature meets the contemporary life of historical ironworks villages and artisan traditions. From the ironworks villages of Mathildedal, Teijo and Kirjakkala you can hike, paddle, fish and cycle directly to the diverse lake and mire landscapes of the national park. Teijo’s trails are a suitable length for day trips, but you can even hike for an entire weekend by combining the trails.

The iron foundries of Teijo

On the shore of Halikonlahti Bay, just a few kilometres away from each other, are located three old iron foundries: Kirjakkala, Teijo and Mathildedal.
