The Lapinsalmi Bridge in Repovesi National Park has been closed - repairing work is strarting

01/13/2025

The Lapinsalmi Bridge in Repovesi National Park has been closed indefinitely since January 2024. From the Lapinsalmi parking area, you can access the trails via the Ketunlossi ferry. Also remember the Saarijärvi and Tervajärvi parking areas.

Autumn 2025 - repairing is starting

The Lapinsalmi bridge is located near Repovesi's most popular starting point, the Lapinsalmi parking area. As the bridge is closed, the Ketunlenkki trail cannot be completed as a circular route. From the Lapinsalmi parking area, you can access the Repovesi trails only via the Ketunlossi ferry at the moment.

  • The Ketunlossi ferry was opened for use on April 2, 2025. The ferry can accommodate 8 people at a time, and one ferry trip takes a few minutes. Therefore, the ferry may become congested during peak times.
  • We recommend that those arriving by car consider arriving via the Tervajärvi or Saarijärvi parking areas.

The Lapinsalmi Bridge will be reopened once it has been repaired.

  • The Ketunlossi ferry and its piers will also be renewed. Work on the Ketunlossi will begin once the bridge is in use. Access to hiking trails from the Lapinsalmi parking area will remain available throughout.
