Instructions and rules in the Pinkjärvi area

**Permitted**

Moving around on foot, by skiing, rowing or paddling.
Please respect the nesting peace of birds.
Picking berries and edible mushrooms.
Angling and ice fishing. Anglers must check local fishing restrictions at kalastusrajoitus.fi.

**Restricted**

As a rule, a permit issued by Metsähallitus is required for activities other than those included in everyman's rights, which may include research, organised events and the shooting of films or advertisements in the terrain. **Prohibited**

When a wildfire warning has been issued, making fires is also prohibited at the Vuotava and Mustalah campfire sites. Always check the current warnings (ilmatieteenlaitos.fi).
Letting dogs and other pets run free. In nature reserves, pets must always be kept on a leash. The Pinkjärvi trails are located in nature reserves where flora and fauna must be left undisturbed.
Using motor vehicles off designated roads.
Littering and damaging structures.

While mobile networks have a wide coverage in Finland, there may be areas in Pinkjärvi with poor reception. Check the coverage of your network with your mobile phone operator. Try moving to higher ground or an open area, or remove your SIM card to make an emergency call.
We recommend that you keep your mobile phone warm at all times. Certain phone models do not work when the temperature falls below zero. To keep your mobile phone charged, bring along a spare power source, a spare battery or an old phone with a working battery.

Restoration work has increased the amount of deadwood in the area. Be cautious of standing dead trees near the trails, as they may fall.

- Make sure you pack a first-aid kit. If you face an emergency on your hike, e.g. get lost, get injured or observe wildfire, call 112 and report an emergency.
- Download the 112 Suomi app (112.fi). When an emergency call is made through the app, your location is automatically shared with the emergency services.
