  • In Iso-Kankainen island, Lake Pihlajavesi, visitors will find a 2.3 km nature trail in addition to an excursion harbour.
  • Kongonsaari island features a 0.4 km trail that introduces visitors to the Salpa Line. A unique attraction on the island is a cave carved into the rock, originally intended to house machine gun nests and accommodation facilities. A fire control post was also excavated at the top of the island, from which artillery fire from a gun emplacement in the island’s center would have been directed. However, the Salpa Line fortifications on Kongonsaari were never completed.
  • Koivukannanniemi excursion harbour is a popular and accessible destination, located 13 km from Savonlinna and reachable by road. The harbour is maintained by the Keep the Archipelago Tidy Association.
