Maintained rest areas in the Oulujärvi Hiking Area as of June 1, 2025

In the future, the hiking services in the Oulujärvi Hiking Area will primarily be maintained and developed as a destination for day hikes and hiking that relies on service-based infrastructure. In the Manamansalo area, hiking services will be developed and maintained as a destination for day trips. Boating on Lake Oulujärvi and its islands is considered comparable to hiking that relies on infrastructure.

Maintained rest areas and toilets as of June 1, 2025, for the next two years:

Manamansalo Island

• Iso-Peura: day-use hut, firewood shed and toilet
• Makkaraniemi: day-use hut, firewood shed and toilet
• Painanne: campfire site, firewood shed and toilet
• Särkinen: campfire shelter, firewood shed and toilet
• Särkinen: campfire shelter, campfire site, firewood shed and toilet

Oulujärvi

• Honkinen: campfire shelter, campfire site, firewood shed and toilet
• Kaarresalo: campfire shelter, campfire site, firewood shed and toilet
• Kuoston Kulma: campfire shelter, firewood shed and toilet
• Kuoston Säippä: campfire shelter, firewood shed and toilet
• Särkinen: campfire site, firewood shed and toilet
