Paddling
It is possible to paddle the Muhosjoki River. The natural Muhosjoki River is a challenge for paddlers, as there are many fallen tree trunks in the river. Portaging around fallen tree trunks can be difficult, as the banks of the river are steep and crumble easily.
- The finest whitewater section of the Muhosjoki River is about a kilometre long. It starts from Suokylä Bridge and runs all the way below Liimanninkoski. After this, the river has no rapids, thus making it suitable for calm paddling. Outside the Liimanninkoski protected area, the river has been cleared and you can paddle all the way to Kajaanintie road or even to the Oulujoki River.
- In the summer, the whitewater sections of the Muhosjoki River are shallow and very rocky, making paddling impossible. Whitewater paddling always requires scouting the conditions and prior experience.
