
Overnight stays
In the Bothnian Bay National Park, there are various accommodation options available for overnight stays, such as open wilderness hut, rental huts, and camping area.
Camping
- Camping is only permitted at the designated tent area on Selkä-Sarvi.
- When camping, be considerate towards other hikers and those staying overnight. They may be tired after their day’s hike and wish to enjoy the peace and quiet of nature.
Huts
- A wilderness hut is shared accommodation where self-guided hikers can rest and spend the night free of charge.
- A rental hut is accommodation that you can rent for your private use for one or several nights.
- By following the hut etiquette, you take the environment, safety and other hikers into consideration. Read the instructions and Hut etiquette that can be found in the hut.

A destination for sheep herders! No other customer use.
Kalla Open Wilderness Hut
A modest open wilderness hut. The hut does not warm up enough to be suitable for winter use. The open wilderness hut is a shared and free resting and overnight place for independent hikers. You can stay in wilderness huts for one or two nights without a reservation. Be prepared for the possibility that there may not be enough space to sleep in the hut. - Sleeping places for two. - Small fireplace for heating. - No drinking water point. Water from natural sources must be purified before drinking. - No waste management. Take your own waste out of the area. - Bring your own cooking utensils. - Pets are not allowed in the hut. - There is a rental hut and old buildings of a former fishing village in the courtyard.
