Campfire sites removed from maintenance in Riisitunturi as of June 1, 2025

As of June 1, 2025, firewood supply and toilet maintenance have ended at the Kuoppavaara lean-to shelter and the Ahmatupa open wilderness hut, located south of Riisitunturi National Park.

The structures will remain in the terrain, but no further maintenance visits will be carried out. Hikers may use any remaining firewood at the campfire sites until it runs out, and the toilets may be used until they are full. It is not permitted to collect firewood from the protected area's forests if the provided firewood has run out.

Maintenance will continue at the other campfire sites in the Riisitunturi area also in the future.
