Snowshoeing

While the signposted Riisin rääpäisy trail (4.3 km) is ideal for snowshoeing in winter, it has not been specifically marked as a snowshoeing trail. During the winter, the snow becomes trodden down to the extent that the trail can also be walked without snowshoes, but on open slopes, the wind can quickly cover it with snow. You will also need snowshoes in early winter or after a heavy snowfall.

Those looking for a challenge can head out on the 20-kilometre Riisitunturi Multipurpose Track on snowshoes, gliding snowshoes, skis or fatbike.
