Yöpyminen
Kaldoaivin erämaa-alueella voi yöpyä omassa teltassa, autiotuvassa tai vuokratuvassa.
Telttailu ja laavut
Retkeilijä saa pystyttää telttansa jokaisenoikeudella sopivaksi katsomalleen paikalle erämaahan. Teltta tai muu majoite kuuluu olla vaellusvarustuksessa, vaikka suunnitelmana olisi yöpyä autiotuvissa. Retkeilijää kehoitetaan yöpymään tulentekopaikkojen, laavujen ja autiotupien läheisyydessä tai vanhoilla telttapaikoilla maaston kulumisen estämiseksi.

Laavut sijaitsevat Opukaskönkäällä, Kontinpaistamalla, Saunakoskella ja Kallokoskella.

Autiotupa on jaettava ja maksuton levähdys- ja yöpymispaikka omatoimiretkeilijöille.
