Punkaharju Nature Reserve

Heavily frosted spruce forests are on the foreground of the aerial photo. Farther back, narrow eskers splinter the frozen lake.

Punkaharju esker ridge has been an internationally known tourist destination already for two hundred years due to the natural beauty of its landscape. It is one of Finland's national landscapes and the beautiful lake views seen between its majestic pines are still the biggest attraction of the area.

Suitability: Amongst the numerous trails of the area there is something for everyone - also a lit trail and an accessible trail.

The area is managed by Metsähallitus, Parks & Wildlife Finland.
