Isojärvi National Park is located east of the Kuhmoinen-Länkipohja road (road 3284). It is 90 km from Tampere, 90 km from Jyväskylä and 100 km from Lahti to Isojärvi.

To the Hiking Trails

The hiking trails start at the Heretty or Kaatvuori parking areas. You can also start hiking from the Huhtala parking area or by putting in a canoe at Nokipohja. Starting points for the hiking trails.

By Car to Isojärvi

Heretty parking area, Kylämäntie 1335, Kuhmoinen. Space for at least 40 cars. The national park signs will guide you to the parking area from the north (Länkipohja) on road no. 9 and the south (Kuhmoinen) on road no. 24. The parking area is also open in the winter.

Kaatvuori parking area, Huhtalantie, Kuhmoinen. Follow Huhtalantie. Space for approximately 25 cars. Huhtalantie is not ploughed in winter. 

Huhtala parking area, Huhtalantie, Kuhmoinen. Space for approximately 10 cars. Huhtalantie is not ploughed in winter.

Nokipohja parking area, boat ramp, Nokiniementie 48, Kuhmoinen. Space for approximately 15 cars. The road is not ploughed in winter.

Please note that the forest roads of the national park are closed off by gates.

By Bus to Isojärvi

There is no public transportation to the area. The bus service (matkahuolto.fi) between Tampere-Jyväskylä operates mainly on weekdays, stopping on Highway 9 at the Länkipohja crossroads. It is approximately 9 km from the bus stop to the Huhtala parking area. 

On the bus service (matkahuolto.fi) running between Lahti-Jämsä, the bus stop closest to the park is in Kuhmoinen, from which it is 19 km to Heretty, the closest parking area to the park.

Transport Services to Isojärvi

Kuhmoinen has a taxi station, but a taxi should be booked in advance when coming from Länkipohja.

Some partners also offer transport services to the national park.
