Hossa Hiking Area

Location of Hossa Hiking Area in FinlandProvince of Oulu, Kainuu Region
Municipality of Suomussalmi (www.suomussalmi.fi)
Area: 90 sq. km. Established in 1979.
The area is managed by Metsähallitus.

The scenery encompasses signs left by the Ice Age and by human habitation. Hossa Hiking Area is an ideal combination of services and peaceful nature.

Some of the forests in the hiking area are in their natural state. The forests, which do have forestry practised in them, are managed so that the scenery and species of the area are not harmed.
