Teijo Hiking Area Directions and Maps Teijo Hiking Area is located
in the municipality of Perniö, about 20 km from the town of Salo, 70 km from
Turku, 140 km from Helsinki and 200 km from Tampere. Lake Matildanjärvi is about
6 km from the village of Perniö.
Directions
By Car
- To get to Teijo Hiking Area, drive on the road 1824 which goes along the
coast from the town of Salo to the municipality of Kemiö. There are signs from
this road to Kirjakkala iron works village and to Lake Matildanjärvi.
- You can also get to Teijo on the road 52 (Tammisaari - Salo) by turning at
the village of Perniö and following the signs to Mathildedal.
- The other route from the road 52 (Tammisaari - Salo) turns west after the
village of Perniö at Sauru (at the sign Teijo 10 km) towards Teijo on the road
1825. This road goes through the Hiking Area to Salo - Kemiö road.
By Public Transportation
- It is possible to get to Teijo by coach from Salo and Perniö. To the town
of Salo, you can get by
coach
(www.matkahuolto.fi) or train (www.vr.fi),
and to the municipality of Perniö by coach (www.matkahuolto.fi).
Vainion liikenne
(www.vainionliikenne.fi, in Finnish) coach services run from Salo to Teijo.
Some of their services run as far as to Mathildedal. The route is Salo - Teijo
- Perniö.
- There is also a local village taxi, tel.int. +358 2 736 6410/
Laaksonen.
Starting Points for the Excursions
- There are ten parking areas, for example at Lake Matildanjärvi, in Teijo,
in Kirjakkala, and near Punassuo.
- The trails do not have a particular starting points. There are signs to
the trails from the parking areas.
- There are boat ramps in the villages of Mathildedal and Teijo.
