A sunny day at Seitseminens mire area. Photo: Timo NieminenSeitseminen National Park is ideal for day trips or for hikes lasting a couple of days. Longer trips can be extended to for example Riuttaskorpi recreational forest and Helvetinjärvi National Park, on a hiking trail network called Pirkan Taival.

Seitseminen National Park is situated at the Suomenselkä, a rugged watershed region. Forests, mires and eskers alternate in the landscape. In the set of living organisms in the park, many of the northern species are represented. The National Park was established to conserve the intricate mosaic of forest and mire ecosystems.
