The Renewed Syöte Area – the Perfect Destination for a Colourful Autumn Hike

The hiking trails and services in the Syöte area have been consistently developed over several years, the latest phase being the Syöte signposts and trails project.

Mountain biking in Syöte. Photo: Saara AiraksinenThanks to the project, you can now move on the Syöte trails guided by new signposts, whether it’s summer hiking or mountain biking you are pursuing. The signposts are complemented by new information boards at the trails’ starting points, and they highlight the area’s day trails. New brochures with good maps will be available in the summer of 2010, providing hikers with an introduction to the area’s enhanced hiking opportunities.
Hikers can also enjoy the improved trail from Kelosyöte to Pytkynharju. The trail sections in poor condition have been surfaced with gravel, and wet places have been provided with better duckboards to make the trail easier to hike, and also to increase safety and reduce erosion.

The excellent mountain bike routes and regular cycling routes serve both serious mountain bike enthusiasts and those preferring easy cycling routes. The routes vary as to the level of difficulty and have several rest stops with lean-to shelters and huts along the way. The well-marked trails have already received positive feedback from the first users.
Syöte National Park and Iso-Syöte Hiking Area with their variety of services welcome you to come and enjoy the blazing colours of autumn, the berry crops and fresh, crisp air!
